Programme for Belize Programme for Belize (PfB) is a Belizean non-profit organization formed in 1988 to promote sustainable development and conserve biodiversity through land management and stewardship. Under a formal agreement with the Government of Belize, PfB is responsible for the management of the Rio Bravo Conservation and Management Area, a 260,000-acre forest in northwestern Belize held in trust for the people of Belize. PfB owns and manages two field stations in Rio Bravo used for forestry management training, environmental education, biological and archeological research, and financial support garnered through ecotourism. Associated community development projects contribute to the establishment and future management of the biological corridor. The organization's five year Sustainable Forestry Project examined the integration of timber extraction with conservation management, one of the greatest challenges of tropical forest protection at the international level.
