Fundación Desdel Chaco
Fundación para el Desarrollo Sustentable del Chaco Sudamericano (Desdel Chaco) DesdelChaco is a new private, non-profit organization which has operated in the past on a volunteer basis. Its mission is to "promote the sustainable development of the South American Chaco in harmony with the conservation of natural resources." It has worked extensively in raising the awareness of environmental issues in the Chaco on a local and national level. DesdelChaco has given workshops to many schools in the reserve as well as to youth groups and it publishes a monthly column in a local newspaper and the director has been interviewed numerous times on local radio stations. The Foundation's environmental education is critical to helping the colonies deepen their understanding of the environment in order to find more sustainable methods of agriculture as well as alternative uses of natural resources.
